Assignment Dropbox: How do I publish a student's submission so that the class can view it?

ANSWER: ASSIGNMENT DROPBOX - PUBLISH

You can publish assignment submissions and allow members of the course to view each other's submissions. If the submission was published before, you can republish it. TIP: You can also allow students to publish their own submissions by choosing the option Both the Section Instructor and Students can publish submissions in the assignment properties. For example:

Role(s) Needed: These instructions apply to Section-level Instructors.

Step 1: From the Teach tab, click the  Assignments tool in the Course Tools area of the Course Menu.

Step 2: Click the down arrow  icon next to the assignment name and select  View Submissions.

  • On the Assignment Dropbox page, you will see 5 tabs, and the system defaults to the All tab, on which ALL assignments are shown in one view.
  • TIP: To filter the list to a specific assignment, in the upper-right corner of the Dropbox page, choose the assignment from the View by drop-down list and click the green Go arrow.
  • You probably do not want to publish submissions without first reviewing and grading them. Refer to the articles in this knowledge base for details on grading assignment submissions.

Step 3: Click the Graded tab.

Step 4: Locate the submission, then click the down arrow  icon next to it and select  Publish Controls.

Step 5: Click the Publish button.

  • If you are re-publishing an assignment, click the Republish button.

The submission is published and appears on the Published tab. Once an assignment is published, students view it by going to their Assignments area, choosing the assignment, and selecting the Published tab.

You can unpublish assignments by following the steps above but select the Unpublish button in the Publish Controls pop-up window. In this case, the published submission is removed from the Published tab.
