Chat and Whiteboard: How do I allow participants to use, or prevent them from using, an alias so as to hide or show their real name in my chat room?

Chat and Whiteboard: Edit Properties

Role(s) Needed: These instructions apply to Section-level Instructors and Designers.

Step 1: From the Build tab, click the Chat tool.

Step 2: Click the down arrow  icon next to the room name and select Edit Properties.

Step 3: In the Room Properties, for example:

To allow users to identify themselves in the room using an alias, select Allow alias. NOTE: This allows students to be anonymous, so be careful!  To prevent this, de-select the option.

Step 4: Click Save to apply the changes.
