Discussions: How do I make a topic invisible to students?

Discussions: Hide Item

By default, when a topic is created, it is visible to Students. You can hide it, however, so that students do not have access.

Role(s) Needed: The instructions for hiding a discussion topic apply to Section-level Instructors and Designers. 

Step 1: From the Build or Teach tab, click the Discussions tool.

Step 2: Click the down arrow  icon next to the topic name and select Hide Item.

All appearances of this item have now been made invisible to Students.

Likewise, to make a topic available again, select the  Show Item option.
