Discussions: How do I sort messages from the newest to the oldest or oldest to the newest?

ANSWER:

Discussions: Sorting

Step 1: In your topic, adjust Paging Preferences to it's highest value: 999.

This ensures that all messages will be listed on the same page view.  If there are more than 999 messages in the topic, you will need to do the following steps ONCE for each page of messages. Paging controls appear at the bottom right corner of the screen. For example:

Click the Paging Preferences icon to set the number of items to 999.

Step 2: Click the Unthreaded button, which lists messages in chronological order.

The messages are listed from newest to oldest.  Click the Date label to sort the list from oldest to newest and vice versa.

TIP: You can also sort messages by Subject and Author in ascending  (A to Z, or 1 to 9)  or descending  (Z to A, or 9 to 1)  order. Just click on either of those labels.  An up-arrow next to the column title indicates that items are currently sorted in ascending order. A down-arrow next to the column title indicates that items are currently sorted in descending order.  If you want to reverse the sort order, click the column title again. The sort order is reversed.

NOTE: Items do NOT remain in the specified sort order when you navigate away from the topic.  When you come back, the display will always will be Threaded view.
