File Manager: WebDAV Folders
Drag and drop of files from your computer (or other location) into course web folders, this is what WebDAV (World Wide Web Distributed Authoring and Versioning) is all about. Web Folders on your computer allow you to access and manage online course files and folders from your computer without logging in to the course system.
To do this, you set up WebDAV folders on your computer that mirror your folders in the course File Manager. When you add, edit, copy, move, or delete files and sub-folders using the WebDAV folders, these changes are made in the File Manager. Conversely, when you add, edit, copy, move, or delete files and sub-folders in File Manager, these changes are made in the WebDAV folders.
For more information about the WebDAV protocol, see http://www.webdav.org.
Note: WebDAV is not supported for Windows 7 users.
