Grade Book: How do I determine the sort order of data in my Grade Book?

ANSWER:

Grade Book: Sort Column

You can sort any underlined column title in ascending or descending order. You can apply a sorting filter to ONLY one column at a time.  To work with more advanced sorting and filtering rules, export the Grade Book and open it in a spreadsheet program like Microsoft Excel.

Role(s) Needed: These instructions apply to Instructors and Teaching Assistants (if TAs are permitted to use the Grade Book).

Step 1: In the Grade Book, locate the column to sort.

Step 2: Click the column label and select Sort Column.

The Grade Book refreshes to apply that sort.  To reverse the sort order for that column, click the column label again and select Sort Column.

To sort a different column, click that column's label and select Sort Column.

An arrow pointing up indicates members are sorted in ascending order (i.e., 1 to 10, A to Z); an arrow pointing down indicates members are sorted in descending order (i.e., Z to A; 10 to 1).
