Grade Book: How do I show columns that I had hidden in my Grade Book?

ANSWER:

Grade Book: Show Column

You can determine which data columns display in each of the Grade Book tabs. Hide and show settings for columns affect only the tab from which they are set. This allows you to show a column in one tab and hide it in another. Since exporting column information can be limited to exporting only displayed columns, hiding and showing columns is a useful way to export only certain information.

Role(s) Needed: These instructions apply to Instructors and Teaching Assistants (if TAs are permitted to use the Grade Book).

Step 1: In the Grade Book, navigate to the tab whose data columns you want to show.

Step 2: Click the Reorder Columns button:

Step 3: On the Reorder Columns screen.

Do one of the following:

  • To show select columns: Next to each column you want to show, select the check box. Click the the Show button (at the bottom). The button for the selected columns is updated to Hide Column (on the right), indicating that the columns are now visible in the Grade Book tab from which you started.

  • To show all columns: In the table heading row, select the check box. All columns are selected. Click the the Show button (at the bottom). The button for the selected columns is updated to Hide Column (on the right), indicating that the columns are now visible in the Grade Book tab from which you started.

Step 3: Click Save.

The columns are shown on the tab from which you started.
