Grade Book: How do I show students statistics, such as the class average, on gradable activities in my course?
ANSWER:
Grade Book: Release Statistics
Grade Book lets you specify whether you want to release statistics for the item in a numeric or calculated column. For example, you may want to release the average score for an assignment to Students. You can also specify to release more detailed statistics.
Important: Only numeric-based columns can show statistics.
Role(s) Needed:
Step 1: In the Grade Book, click the Grade Book Options button, then Column Settings.
Step 2: For each column you want to release statistics for, in its Release Statistics row, click the current value.
Step 3: In the Edit Column Value pop-up window.

From the New Value drop-down list, select Average Only or All.
- Click Save.
NOTE: When you release All statistics, Students can view all of the statistics you can view, including the average, median, maximum, minimum, standard deviation, and the grade histogram. To release detailed statistics, select All Statistics.
