ANSWER:
Media Library: Add Entries & Collections
A Media Library Collection enables you to organize related media files (which are called "Entries") into one place. IMPORTANT: You must put Media Entries into Collections. Students can only view entries that have been added to a collection.
Part 1: Create a collection to house the entries:
Step 1:
Step 2: Click the Create Collection button.
Step 3: Enter the Title and Description.
NOTE: The description is visible to Students and appears next to the collection title.
Step 4: Indicate whether the collection is visible to Students (Show Item or Hide Item).
Step 5: Optionally enter keywords separated by commas.
Step 6: Click Save.
Part 2: Create your entries:
Step 1: On the Media Library screen, click the View All Entries... button.
Step 2: Click the Create Entry button
Step 3: Enter the Title and Description. (Optionally click box for Display in italic to emphasize the title.)
IMPORTANT: If you want to create automatic links from files to this Media Library entry, the title must be an exact match of the word or phrase in the file.
Step 4: Click Browse to add or upload a file with the entry, such as an image or audio file.
Step 5: Optionally enter keywords separated by commas.
Step 6: To include this entry in one or more existing collections, select the check box next to each collection.
Step 7: To create links to the entry in files, next to More Options, click the Expand/Collapse icon.
The default linking option is selected. To change to another option, select how you want the entry to be linked:
To only link selected instances of the entry title in files, select Manual.
To automatically link only the first instance of the entry title in all files, select Automatic: first instance.
- To automatically link all instances of the entry title in all files, select Automatic: all instances.
Step 8: Click Sa.
The media library entry is created and added to selected collections.
