Page Options: How do I add a background image to my Course Home page?
ANSWER:
Page Options: Customize Page Display
NOTE: Depending on administrator settings, this feature may not be available. Also, be sure to appropriately size your background image. Additionally, if your background is too "busy", it may interfere with the text on your pages.
You can add a background image to the Course Content Home screen or any content folder in the Course Content tool.
Step 1: Click on the Build tab.
Step 2: On the Course Content Home page, or after navigating to the desired folder, select the Page Options button, then Customize Page Display
Step 3: Under Background Image, click .
NOTE: If the My Computer icon does not appear (you may see a red X), see alternative at the end of this article for instructions.
Select a file on your computer and click Open.
Step 5: To force the image to "fill" the whole page, check the option: Tile the image.
Step 6: Click .
The course is refreshed, and the background image is added. NOTE: This image is only applied on the content folder which you chose to customize. Repeat this process to add this image to other course content folders.
Alternative to My Computer in Content Browser window
If the My Computer icon does not appear (you may see a red X) in the Content Browser, you need to get Java. Reference the articles on Java in this knowledge base for further details. The workaround, until you install Java, is to click the area below the Class Files image (where the My Computer icon would appear). Then select the link Click here to select files individually
Click the Browse button to upload a file from your computer. Each Browse button can be used to upload a single file from your computer:
Click OK when finished.
